Ireland's No. 1 FREE magazines parents & teachers of primary school children
Don’t miss A SENSATIONAL EVENT FOR parents, teachers and therapists of children with special educational needs.
While each family is different, in general looking after a child with special needs brings extra challenges and issues. Many research studies report increased stresses and burdens for the parents of children with special needs, such as providing more care and supervision, the demands of special educational programmes and dealing with behaviour problems, as well as personal stress and social isolation.
Such stresses can be particularly acute at certain times, such as on receiving a diagnosis, starting school and adolescence, when the challenges can be at their highest and the differences from other children at their most pronounced. The families who cope best tend to seek support from the appropriate services for both themselves and their children.
With this in mind, Karen Leigh, founder of Irish charity Sensational Kids is proud to host Ireland’s only dedicated, national conference with world class speakers in Ireland for people working with and caring for children and adolescents with special educational needs. Sensational Kids Special Educational Needs Conference takes place on 19th-20th April 2016 at Citywest Hotel, Dublin. If you can’t attend the whole event, why not book our parents evening (Costs €49 and includes a choice of 4 presentations on strategies to help the child with special needs, followed by buffet dinner) from 5pm-10pm on Tuesday 19th April
